We still know very little about the true origins of Rome, because there's no archeogical, scientific evidence of how the city was born and developed. Roman historians produced the story of the twin brothers Romulus and Remus who were fed by a wolf, and Greek historians of the 5th century BCE said that it had been founded by Aeneas, a hero of Troy. Both stories became one around the first century BC.
