Why did Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr fight a duel in 1804? Who do you think was more responsible for the conflict?

Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr fought a duel in 1804 because of personal and political struggles. I personally think that Aaron Burr was more responsible, as he was wanted for murder after the duel.

The hate towards one another progressively increased until they decided to duel, and here's how it began.

In the beginning, both didn't really agree with each other but remained passive. Hamilton preferred to take action right away, whilst Burr decided to always "wait for it".

Burr decided to run for Senator and took Hamilton's stepdad, Phillip Schuyler's seat in the Senate. Hamilton was mad and believed Burr did this on purpose. (1/3)

During the Election of 1800, Jefferson and Burr were running against each other for President. Hamilton tried to turn the public against Burr, causing him to lose. (2/3)

This time, Burr tried to run for governor of New York, but again, Hamilton turned the public against him, causing Burr to lose. (3/3)

After those 3 important events, Burr challenged Hamilton to a duel. Hesitant, Hamilton agreed and they decided to meet at dawn. Burr won but at a cost: killing Hamilton. This was important because Hamilton was a Founding Father of America. Burr was later charged with murder.
