A rising sense of Nationalism in China was reaction to, What?

I don't know exactly what type of answer you are looking for but if I had to guess I would no doubt say that when China really started to become the main producers of like every day things that we use. For example now a days you can look at the bottom of most things and what does it always say? "Made in China" so when this happens it normally means that that place is pretty rich and the people who live there are normally pretty proud of it.
