    Because they wanted the expand their own country and eventually take over half of Europe, even before ww1 they had actually planned it for 20 + years. And Britain had owned 90 percent of Africa. They tried converting the natives "white" by making them following their religion and teaching and "culturally correct" ways this was called social darwniamy
