Though all the choices were true, however, when Ford pardoned Nixon for his involvement in the Watergate scandal had caused an out roar to many of the constituents in the United States. Many believed that Nixon should be punished. Because of his decision, Ford lose the presidency to Jimmy Carter in 1924
