The differences were economic and social

    Explanation:

Northern society was prosperous while southern was mostly middle class. North was industrial and the economic realization was almost dependent upon factories while on the other hand most of the southern society was dependent upon agriculture. Similarly to overcome the agricultural handwork, southern society had slaves while northern society did not have slaves.
