How did octavian win the roman people's support against antony?

    Octavian won the Roman people's support against Antony by turning the Romans against Antony. Octavian did this by playing on the Roman citizens' fear of foreigners and by stating that Antony has an intention to make his lover, Cleopatra, their ruler.
