Manhatoes people sold an island to governor Minuit. Manhattan was the island which was purchased by the governor Peter Minuit in 1626. The interesting part is that this was bought for only 60 Dutch guilders worth of trade goods, approximately $24. Minuit is still remembered for this fabulous trade of Island.
