Mountains along the northern border, including the Himalayas affect the climate of south Asia by influencing their temperatures and humidity. Most of the Southern Asian countries like India experience a warm, humid climate. The height of the Himalayas concentrates most of the monsoonal winds on the Indian subcontinent as well as blocking cold winds from Siberia from reaching the region. As a result, most of India experiences a warm, tropical climate with more precipitation.
