2. Why did Spain fight France and England?

    Spain's role in the independence of the United States was part of it's dispute over colonial supremacy with the Kingdom of Great Britain. Spain declared war on Britain as an ally of France, itself an ally of American colonies and provided supplies and munitions to the American Forces.

    Explanation:

    So basically what I'm trying to say is that Spain fought France and England because the French territory was surrounded by Habsburg territories. (Cardinal Richelieu declared the war)
