The outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg made the south feel that defeat was inevitable and cannot be avoided under any circumstances. So the morale of south was very low after this war. The morale of the north on the other hand was very high and they felt that victory was not far from their grasp. During the Civil war, the Battle of Gettysberg is considered the bloodiest battle as 51000 soldiers died from both sides in the three day battle. For the Union army, the Battle of Gettysberg served as a huge milestone that turned the direction of the war.
