The lessons that coastal Saleesh people teach their stories contain teachings which constitute in a reconnaissance of collective memory and knowledge to sustain their cultures and identities. The Saleesh elders told stories, some true and others exaggerated but at the end result the stories contained a collective memory. The elders reached back to the teachings of their parents, grandparents, and their great grandparents as well.
