    Latin America was commercially dominated by the united states. Similarly, China's economy was controlled by Japan and other countries.

    Explanation: American imperialism under Latin America came from a commercial perspective, in which nations became dependent on the American market to export their products, giving the US a power of influence to decide even on domestic issues in those countries. The same was true of Japanese imperialism under China. In the first half of the twentieth century, China was essentially rural and Japan was an influential power that dominated China commercially, even invading Chinese territories.
