What factors led to the rapid growth of Islam following Muhammad's death, despite early internal conflicts between Sunni and Shia?

    It was simple. Through conquests. First the Rashidun caliphate conquered the north and started expanding towards the west in Africa, and then, later, the Umayyad caliphate conquered the entire northern Africa and a part of the territory west of the Arabian peninsula.
