The sum of the measures of the three of a angles of triangle is 180. In a triangle, the measures of three angles are x, x-5 and x+23. What is the measure of each angle

    x + x-5 + x + 23 = 180

    combine like terms:

    3x + 18 = 180

    subtract 18 from each side:

    3x = 162

    divide both sides by 3

    x = 162 / 3 = 54

    Angle x = 54 degrees

    Angle x-5 = 54-5 = 49 degrees

    Angle x + 23 = 54 + 23 = 77 degrees
