Write an equation of the line whose slope is 1/3 and whose y-intercept is 2.

    This formula is called "slope intercept form"

    The formula looks thin this: y=mx+b.

    m=Slope

    b = y-Intercept

    In our problem, our m (slope) = 1/3 and our b (y-intercept) = 2
