You have a summer job that pays $5.60 an hour. you get $8.40 an hour for overtime (anything over 40 hours). how many hours of overtime must you earn $287?

    5.60*40=224

    287-224=63

    63 divided by 8.40 = 7.5

    so, if you work a regular 40 hours a week paid at $5.60 an hour, youd make $224. But if you earned $287, you would have to work 7.5 hours over time.
