Darius takes his family on an afternoon boat ride. Going through York Canal, he drives 5 miles in 15 minutes. Later on as he crosses Stover Lake, he drives 30 minutes at the same average speed. Which statement about the distances is true? A) The distance traveled in York Canal is 15 miles less than the distance traveled on Stover Lake. B) The distance traveled in York Canal is twice the distance traveled on Stover Lake C) The distance traveled in York Canal is one half the distance traveled on Stover Lake. D) The distances traveled in York Canal and Stover Lake are the same.

    In first case, the average speed is (5/15) miles per minutes = (1 / 3) miles per minutes;

    In second case, the distance traveled in York Canal is 30 x (1 / 3) = 10 miles;

    But, 10 + (10 : 2) = 10 + 5 = 15 miles;

    The correct answer is C) !
