A single person pays $4,500 in income taxes on a gross income of $30,000. How much would a single person be expected to pay if his gross income is $32,000? (Assume both incomes are in the same tax bracket.)

    4500/30000 = 0.15

    32000 * 0.15 = 4800

    T/32000=4500/30000, multiply both sides by 32000

    t=32000*4500/30000

    t=144000000/30000

    t=$ (14400/3)

    t=$4800
