If your teacher do not put the value of the q all the letters will be 1 so: 1+5=6 (after you just simplify)

Q is - 7/18
Find least common denominator of 9 and 6 which is 18
Multiply by LCM=18
Q x 18 + 5/9 x 18 = 1/6 x 18
Refine
18q + 10=3
Subtract 10 from both sides
18q+10-10=3-10
Refine
18q=7
Divide 18 by both sides
18q/18 = - 7/18
Refine
Q is - 7/18
