    The work done by the person in the process = 313.53 J

    Explanation:

    Work: This is defined as the product of force and distance. The unit of work is Joules (J). Because energy and work have the same unit, they can be used interchangeably during calculations in science.

    Work done in the process = Work done i lifting the cement through the vertical distance + work done in carrying the cement along the horizontal distance.

    Therefore, Wp = Wv + Wh ... equation 1

    Where Wp = work dine in the process, Wv = vertical work done. Wh = horizontal work done.

    Wv = mgHv ... Equation 2

    Wh = mgHh ... Equation 3

    Where m = mass of the cement, g = acceleration due to gravity, Hv = vertical distance, Hh = horizontal distance.

    Substituting Equation 2 and 3 into Equation 1

    Wp = mgHv + mgHh ... Equation 4

    Given: m = 4.7 kg, Hv = 1.1 m, Hh = 5.7 m g = 9.8 1m/s²

    Substituting these values into equation 4

    Wp = (4.7*9.81*1.1) + (4.7*9.81*5.7)

    Wp = 50.7177 + 262.8099

    Wp = 313.53 J.

    Therefore, The work done by the person in the process = 313.53 J
