Describe the position of the earth in relation to the sun in the winter and summer for the Northern Hemisphere.

    During the summer, the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth is angled toward the sun as the Earth revolves around the sun. During the winter, the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth is oriented away from the sun creating a shorter day and a longer night.
