Kepler-186f is much closer to the sun than earth is to its sun. why is it considered to be in the habitable zone even though it's close to a sun

    The sun which Kepler-186f orbits is a much smaller star in both mass and size. This along with other factors has a large affect on the size and distance of the habitable zone.
