In the bathroom of your house you would like to run a 360 W radio, a 60 W phone charger, a 960 W hair dryer, and three 120 W lights. Assuming your house is wired for 120 Volts, how much current will be pulled by these electrical devices?

    I = 14.5[amp]

    Explanation:

    To solve this problem we must remember the law of ohm which tells us that the voltage is equal to the current by the resistance, just as the power is equal to the product of the voltage by the current.

    Power = Voltage * Current; P = V * I

    where:

    Power = [watt]

    Voltage = [V]

    Current = [amp]

    The initial dа ta:

    Power = 360 + 60 + 960 + (3*120) = 1740 [w]

    V = 120 [v]

    I = P/V

    I = 1740/120

    I = 14.5[amp]
