Sociology is more than just listening to music, watching TV or going to the movies. Sociology is about studying the development, structure and functioning of human society. So by understanding how TV, movies or music influence our societies' development is an aspect you cannot obtain just by watching or listening. How these media forms influence our society is key to understanding our history and our future as a human race.
