Margaret leased her life estate in the family home to her grandson, jeff, for six years. margaret, the governing life of the life estate, died prior to the expiration of the six-year lease. upon margaret's death, what is the status of jeff's lease

    When the life tenant lease her Life Estate, the property rights are valid only during her life. In Margaret's case, since she died prior the expiration of the six-year lease of her grandson, Jeff, Jeff loses his lease as soon as his grandmother passes away.
