    The correct answer is - B. 0.5°C.

The global temperature has been constantly on the rise since the year of 1880. Since than, the global temperatures had risen 0.8°C, while in the past 100 years it is closer to 0.5°C. Even though the rise in the temperature seems very small, it has actually started to affect big portion of the planet, with the ice caps and glaciers constantly reducing, and the desertification process constantly being on the rise.

The reasons for the global warming are two, the natural cycle of the planet, and the human activities since the industrial revolution. While the natural cycle has been going on for some time, it is a very slow and gradual one, the human activities have resulted in speeding up the warming significantly, thus resulting in quick rise of the global temperatures.
